Rachel Caine,
Weather Warden #3: Chill Factor
(Roc, 2005)

Picking up where we were left off in the previous novel, Heat Stroke, djinn partners Joanne and David have been trying to get to Las Vegas to confront Kevin and Jonathan. Unfortunately, they've been less than successful.

Then the Wardens show up and demand Joanne hand David over, as they want to try to trade djinn. David convinces Jo to go along with the plan, but then everything starts going sideways.

Chill Factor is every bit as fast-paced as the other books in Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series, so you're in for a wild ride! I had to read this one, and could not stop 'til I was done. Jonathan has an agenda unsuspected by all. A new group of players is introduced, giving Joanne even more people she has to deal with. Joanne also finds out about what David has done as a kind of insurance to help her survive.

I must admit, I wanted to go hunt Rachel down and smack her a couple of times as she threw in her twists and turns and shocks. (OK, I'm kidding.) I'm looking forward to another great adventure!
