Ryan Farish, From the Sky (Neurodisc, 2005) |
Ryan Farish is the most played musician you've never heard of. His music has been played on the Weather Channel -- the theme to Storm Stories and as a part of Weather on the 8's -- as well as the Freedom Towers documentary, the playlist on Music Choice's Soundscapes channel and XM radio's Audio Visions channel, and in the soundtrack for the Steven Seagal movie Into the Sun. His debut album Beautiful produced No. 1 hits on MP3's music download site and top 10 hits on the Billboard new age charts. From the Sky is the followup album to Beautiful. While From the Sky is a bit of a departure for Ryan -- vocals have added to some of the pieces -- the 12 original tunes on the album are distinctly in the Farish style. Tracks include "The Promise," "Living Water," "Pacific Wind," "Home Again," "Cry No More" and "Shine." Farish has been playing music nearly all of his life. His compositions come from the life around him. He blends the sounds of worldbeat music with new age sounds to create a style and sound that is distinctly his own. by Sherrill Fulghum |
