Jed & Lucia, Candles in Daylight (Unfound, 2006) This is a fusion of Sweden and the USA, with Lucia bringing Stockholm to the mix and Jed infusing the Pacific Northwest and bringing them to the musical boil in California. The result is an eclectic mix of styles, tunes, sounds and effects. From the opening track "World on Fire," you are drawn to the sounds that will often have you missing the lyrics as you try to identify the instruments, real or sequenced, that give each track its magical depth. I doubt there are any "hits" on this album of 11 tracks. It is one of those CDs you will love or hate, and even then it may depend on the mood you are in when you listen. In essence, it is an album to experience as you allow your senses to merge with the artists. [ visit the artist's website ] |
