The Kinleys, Just Between You & Me (Sony, 1997) |
The Kinleys are a strong duo, producing some excellent music on Just Between You & Me. Through 10 tracks they display a unique ability to write and interpret songs. The voices blend together perfectly and the chosen songs are great to listen to, but they also have meaning. I particularly enjoyed "Talk to Me." "Please," too, is a beautiful song that will strike chords in many a heart from its opening line, "There ain't no easy way to start this conversation." The best track on the CD is from the pens of the singers. It is the beautiful, heartfelt "Contradiction," a very sad song that contains so much truth it can hurt. This could be a classic if enough people hear it and alone is worth the cost of the album. The contradiction is contained in sentiments like "to love some one enough to walk away." Think about it. The Kinleys are a force to be reckoned with in writing and performing. - Rambles |
