Jed Marum,
Ain't No Goin' Back
(Boston Road, 2008)

Ain't No Goin' Back, a five-track CD, is a lovely introduction to Jed Marum, his music and his interpretations of the songs of others.

There is a lovely Christmas feel to the opening track, "Banjos We Have Heard on High." It combines some of our Yuletide favourites with, naturally, a lovely banjo backing. The title track finds Marum in a very Americana sort of groove. The lovely story-song will captivate.

To show his versatility, Marum drags us into a jaunty song about a Bostonian going south to Texas on the track called "Yankee in Texas." This is a great, witty tale of how it was to move from one culture to another. The title track of his new full album, "Sands of Aberdeen," is also included here.

This short showcase recording closes with an instrumental version of "The Lilly of the West."

This is a great introduction to Jed Marum and his very individual style and choice of music. But be warned you will want more of his sound -- much more.
