Naomi de Bruyn lives just outside of Victoria, Canada. Surrounded by lush forest and crystal lakes, she makes it a habit to escape the bounds of the 9-5 world as much as possible. She was hooked on reading while still in diapers, as her father's deep, melodic voice intoned Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories at bedtime each night. This led to a voracious appetite where the science fiction and fantasy genre was concerned, and a lifelong gripe about the lack of decent reading material -- "There's never enough!"
When not doing anything of more importance, she is usually being a scratching post for her three teen-aged kids and three cats. She is also a comfortable, and oft times unwilling, pillow and chew toy for her wolf crossbreed. He is grand company on walks, though, so it can be tolerated to some extent.
Lifelong eclectic interests in music and reading material have led her through some interesting situations, and provided her with some equally odd friends. She has had some poetry published and is currently working on a novel. Writing has always been a need, even if it's only for the enjoyment of friends and family.
Her favorite job so far has been driving a garbage truck around town by herself at night (had the library contract ... all those wonderful books and records just tossed in the trash!). She has no idea what she wants to be when she grows up, but due to fey blood in the family, there's plenty of time for decisions to be made.
