The Cooler is the soundtrack for the motion picture by the same name. The album contains 14 tracks, half of which are original tunes written for the movie by Mark Isham. The collection of big band jazz and standards includes the classic songs "Luck Be a Lady," "My Funny Valentine" and "Almost Like Being in Love."

While the soundtrack is designed to accompany the Las Vegas gambler theme in the movie, in which a a down-and-out gambler finds both a lover and Lady Luck, the album stands alone as an album of good oldstyle music. The Cooler is the perfect album to accompany an intimate evening with that significant other, with or without the candlelight and fire; it's great for dancing close and snuggling.

Fans of big band, jazz standards or the music of the 1940s will want to add the soundtrack from The Cooler to their musical collection.
