Robert WindPony, Moon Rider (independent, 2007) Robert WindPony, Sky Blue (independent, 2007) Solo recordings of Native American flute are something you either like or you don't. If you do, you will surely like these two. Robert Windpony does not add nature sounds, synthesizers or anything else to his CDs. There is only flute. Windpony provides more variety than you might think, however, even though the five- or six-hole native flute has a limited number of notes. He uses a few trills and other techniques, although they never overpower the music. He plays flutes of many different keys and made of various woods. In fact, his website has a number of them for sale. Although they should be considered more than just "relaxation music," these CDs do give the listener a sense of peace. Both CDs are of "spirit songs" and have a same feel. If you like Native American music, you should certainly get both of them. [ visit the artist's website ] |
