Robbie's life is a mess. His girlfriend Leonie (Siobhan Reilly) is pregnant and he's serving community service while watching out for a gang of thugs set on settling a long-running feud.

But thanks to Harry (John Henshaw), the man supervising his probation, he learns of a new talent -- Robbie (Paul Brannigan) has got a great nose for whisky.

This begins a scheme to heist a bit of an important batch of Scotch brewing at a local distillery. Hilarity ensues.

This one was like going home. We visited Scotland once back in 2000 and would both dearly love to stay. It's a beautiful country and the spirit of the people is endearing and fun-loving. In particular, we had a great time in Glasgow, where this film was shot. The accents are interesting, kind of a faster-talking patois than the rest of Scotland. Plus, the film gives you just a hint of the music, which is wonderful.

We have seen The Angel's Share twice. The first time was back near the original release in 2012 (when it won the Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize). The fact that my spouse didn't remember it -- and I only did partway through -- is an indication that it was not a favorite. Still, The Angel's Share was an enjoyable movie to rewatch.
