For their third album, Home, the Dixie Chicks turn their heads slightly away from the country theme and look towards their natural bluegrass roots. This record, under new management and label, was carefully crafted as an amazing follow-up of the record-breaking CD, Fly.

With sisters Marty Maguire and Emily Robison providing the instrumental support on fiddle and banjo, the Dixie Chicks rip through the runaway breakdown, "White Trash Wedding." This honky-tonk/twang style brings both attitude and bluegrass into this CD.

With pop roots that are never too far from the surface, it's no surprise that this trio would do such an amazing job covering Fleetwood Mac's hit "Landslide." They give this song some much needed shimmering treatment that is sure to put a smile on Stevie Nicks' face.

Breaking records is not tough for this talented trio. The first single from the record, "Long Time Gone," has quickly become the fastest-moving single in the Dixie Chicks' career.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this CD. With the unique blend of country and bluegrass, it has proved to be a very dynamic recording. I hope to see more of the band in the future, but possibly not too soon considering they are all new parents! I am sure, however, that this CD will keep fans in a buzz for a long while.
