Simon R. Green, Nightside #6: Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth (Ace, 2006)
It's now up to John Taylor, the Nightside's Premiere private investigator -- and, coincidentally, her son -- to stop her. There are only two problems: John has seen the future and already knows he will fail and, well, Lilith is his mother, after all. But Taylor always has another trick up his sleeve -- even when he thinks he doesn't! While still good, Serpent's Tooth is my least favorite of Simon R. Green's Nightside series to date. The novel -- the sixth in the series -- has an over-narrated and rushed quality that takes some of the life from the work. Still, I love Green's characters and the book is worth the price and the read to find out what happens. ![]() |
