Erin McCarthy, Vegas Vampires #2: Bit the Jackpot (Berkley, 2006) This is the second book in Erin McCarthy's Vegas Vampires series.
Cara is a stripper by night and is going to school to become a veterinarian by day. But she also has some wonderful contradictions. For example, when she dances she only strips behind a screen. (There is more, but I don't want to spoil anything.) Seamus is immediately drawn to the woman he first sees dancing behind her screen. But after leaving the club, a vampire fight starts in the alley and Cara is caught in the middle. Both of their lives are going to be changed. This is a great followup to the first novel. As usual, McCarthy gives you a fast-paced story with wonderful characters. Seamus and Cara are great together. There are many moments that will have you laughing hard -- as well as some very hot sex scenes, and a little action thrown in. I can't wait for the next one! ![]() |
