Old Crow Medicine Show, Old Crow Medicine Show (Nettwerk, 2004) |
Old Crow Medicine Show's This OCMS recording is quite good, with four originals and many traditionals that were arranged by the group to fit their sound. Although some of the material has a rock-inflected edge, one can still hear the traditional sounds, especially through the fiddle, banjo, and guit-jo breaks. The members alternate the instrument-playing amongst themselves, giving the project a great feel. The vocals are a little rough-sounding but very clear and strong. I enjoyed the CD very much and recommend it, especially to the younger faction of bluegrass listeners because of its edginess. - Rambles |
