Frat Party,
directed by Robert Bennett
(Anchor Bay, 2009)

As you might guess from the title, Frat Party is an exceedingly dumb comedy made up mostly of crude jokes, nude girls and a weak plot. You know it's going to be a bad movie when the main character starts out speaking directly to the audience.

I will say one thing for Frat Party, though -- the ending is significantly different from the wholly predictable ending you'll be expecting. Even this one singular quality is rather a two-edged sword, however. An unusual ending is quite welcome in theory, but I personally hated the way this movie played itself out.

After four years of numerous college girlfriends and hook-ups, Duffy (Randy Wayne) is settling down with the girl of his dreams, Adriana (Caroline D'Amore) and heading to Eastern Europe to work a cushy job for his fiancee's wealthy father. There's only one problem -- his fraternity's last college party is the night before the wedding.

Even though Adriana's father doesn't like him to begin with, Duffy insists on skipping the wedding rehearsal and family dinner to enjoy the blow-out frat party. Hmmm, what could possibly go wrong? To his credit, Duffy tries to resist numerous temptations (including porn star Jesse Jane, appearing here as herself), but his biggest problem turns out to be the fact that he is a complete idiot.

I can't say I've ever attended a frat party before, but I still feel pretty confident in saying this isn't exactly the most insane and memorable throw down the world has ever seen. In fact, what happens after the frat party is even crazier than anything Duffy's friends dreamed up for his last night as a free man. Whether or not Duffy makes it to the wedding turns out to be just a part of the increasingly ridiculous story.

Maybe there are a few souls out there who might actually enjoy this movie, but I daresay the vast majority of people will question why I haven't been harsher in this review.
